You might have seen on social media that I’ve been busy beavering away getting my yoga business up and running. Although I’ve been teaching for the last few years, I decided that this was the year to invest more time and effort into setting up regular classes, workshops, hosting retreats and getting some private clients. It’s taken more time (and money!) than I thought it would, but I feel so excited about what I’ve already achieved and it’s been so satisfying to set something up from scratch and watch it develop. For the last couple of years all my free time has been spent on my Masters, so it’s great to be doing something that really excites me (you can only get so excited about writing a 20,000 word thesis after all…) I’ll be doing this alongside my job as a school teacher, so all my classes will be in the evening, weekends and school holidays…because let’s face it, there are plenty of those!
This Sunday I’ll start teaching my weekly class at St Barnabus Church in Clapham from 5.30pm-6.30pm. The space is insanely beautiful (it’s no ordinary church hall!) and I couldn’t have wished for a better space to start up in. I’m fully booked now so if you want to nab a future spot email me at email@example.com and I can add you to my waiting list.
WORKSHOP FOR RUNNERS AND CYCLISTS
From all the running I’ve done over the years I still have tight hamstrings but have been lucky to escape injury due to a regular yoga practice to keep my limber. Along with my lovely friend Lottie (check out her website www.lottiemayyoga.com for Bristol based classes) I’ll be putting on a workshop for runners and cyclists. The date is tbc (before or after marathon season peeps?) but I’ll let you know when that’s in the diary.
Next February Half Term I’ll be hosting a weekend retreat with another of my yogi friends, Rosie (www.therosieyogaproject.com) at the beautiful Tilton House in Sussex. I’m so excited about this – it’s a gorgeous venue and should be a great weekend of escapism.
