This week we’ve been lucky enough to have some glorious weather with hot days and blue skies. There’s nothing better than a good British summer time, and the recent spell of sunshine has certainly put a spring in my step.
With the summer months just around the corner, I’ve taken the opportunity to prepare “The Skin Series,” a series of articles which aim to educate and empower you with knowledge to protect your skin this summer and prevent skin cancer.
Skin cancer is increasingly common in the UK, but is doesn’t have to continue that way. The British Association of Dermatologists are currently in the middle of their Sun Awareness Campaign, which runs each year between April – September, and aims to increase awareness about skin cancer. This is a fantastic campaign, which I’m keen to support, and hope that “The Skin Series,” will not only increase your awareness of skin cancer, but help you to make better choices to protect your skin, not only this summer, but for the rest of your life.
The articles will discuss everything related to skin cancer, from understanding the basics of sunburn and skin damage, to tips on how to protect your skin from burning and the signs of skin cancer to look out for.
